Canadian Literature - Avie Bennett Chair

The role of the Chair will significantly contribute to the body of scholarship in
the field of Canadian literature. The successful incumbent will demonstrate a deep
commitment to producing the highest quality scholarship on Canadian literature,
engaging the Canadian literary community and building a strong public profile as a
leading authority on Canadian literature on behalf of the University. The incumbent
will forge critical links between scholars of Canadian literature at the University
of Toronto and their counterparts at universities and specialized institutions across
Canada and abroad who are dedicated to fostering knowledge of the field. The

Laboratory Medicine & Pathobiology

The successful candidate will be member of a team of specialists that constitutes the
Transfusion Medicine Collaborative (TMC), Canada’s largest hospital-based Transfusion Medicine program between University Health Network, Sunnybrook, St.
Michael’s Hospital and the Hospital for Sick Children. The scope of responsibilities
includes clinical duties related to the practice of Transfusion Medicine and well-defined administrative responsibilities at Lakeridge and with hospitals affiliated with
the UHN Laboratory Medicine Program, and participation in a call roster with
some of the hospital members of TMC (UHN and SHSC). The successful candidate
must be eligible for an academic appointment in the Department of Laboratory
Medicine and Pathobiology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.

Division Head will oversee faculty recruitment mentoring and career development.
He/she will facilitate the development of goals and objectives for the Division, which
will advance the strategic initiatives of the Department, Hospital and University. The
successful candidate must have achieved prominence in her/his own career and must
hold an MD degree, have or be eligible for certification in Endocrinology by the
Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and licensure in the province
of Ontario. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate must have expertise in minimally-invasive surgery (
specifically robotics), prostate cancer surgery and general oncologic surgery. He/she should
have successfully completed an accredited Urology Oncology Fellowship. Special
expertise in prostate cancer translational research along with a demonstrated commitment academic activity is required. The candidate would support the ongoing
teaching activities of the Division at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
