Reporting to the Vice-President Academic and Provost, the
Dean is responsible for providing strategic and administrative
leadership to the Faculty of Education. The Faculty is well-
positioned to respond to the changes underway in the evolving
and broad discipline of education. The Dean will identify and
capitalize on the Faculty’s strategic strengths, including the
complement of dynamic faculty and staff in the Department
of Curriculum & Instruction, the Department of Educational
Psychology & Leadership Studies and the School of Exercise
Science, Physical and Health Education. The Dean will be the
Faculty’s greatest advocate across campus and externally,
championing the innovation taking place and the broad range
of expertise and interests that can be found in the Faculty.
The successful candidate will be an inspiring and strategic
leader with a strong record of success as an academic
administrator. S/he will have a demonstrated ability to navigate
change in a transparent and collaborative manner, and will
be an accomplished academic who possesses a substantial
record of achievement in teaching and research. Exceptional
advocacy and communication skills are essential and a PhD,
or equivalent, in a relevant field is required.
