Civil and Environmental Engineering
» BUILDING ENGINEERING Applicants should have expertise in one or
more of the following research areas: analysis and design of building
structural systems, modular buildings or building envelopes, building
energy performance, service life extension of existing buildings
through novel solutions for structural/envelope deficiencies and/or
changed occupancy and use, and innovative building design.
» ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING Applicants should have expertise
in the application of quantitative methods to problems in one or
more of the following research areas: subsurface energy resources,
indoor or outdoor air quality, treatment and remediation of
hazardous waste, or environmental microfluidics.
» GRADUATE ATTRIBUTES LECTURER In addition to carrying a
partial teaching load, responsibilities include mapping of graduate
attributes across the department’s curricula, development of
assessment tools, collection and critical analysis of data on student
performance and recommendations for program improvement.
Electrical and Computer Engineering
» BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING The successful candidate’s areas of
interest should include: biomedical signal and image processing,
healthcare communication and information systems, biomedical
data mining, computational biology and bioinformatics.
» GRADUATE ATTRIBUTES LECTURER In addition to carrying a
partial teaching load, responsibilities include mapping of graduate
attributes across the department’s curricula, development of
assessment tools, collection and critical analysis of data on student
performance and recommendations for program improvement.
» MECHATRONICS AND SYSTEMS CONTROL The applicant
should have expertise in mechatronics and systems control.
Responsibilities include research, teaching at the undergraduate
and graduate level, and supervision of graduate students.
» MECHATRONICS LECTURER The successful candidate must
have a strong understanding of electro-magnetics, electric
circuits, digital design, bus interfaces, real-time system design/
development, and embedded software development for micro-controllers and micro-processors.
Management Sciences
» OPERATIONS RESEARCH The successful candidate will have
interests and/or experience in the theory and applications of
Operations Research methods to problems in industrial and
service organizations.
» ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOUR, ORGANIZATIONAL THEORY,
TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT Applicants are sought who have
demonstrated research and teaching potential in areas such as
organizational behaviour, organizational theory, technology/
innovation management, or social aspects of technology.
Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering
» TRANSPORTATION LIGHT-WEIGHTING — FORMING AND
CRASHWORTHINESS Applicants will have a developing
research program with emphasis on the mechanics of sheet
forming and/or crashworthiness of light metals and ultra-high
strength steels. Additionally, they will have a strong interest in
engaging in collaborative research with the automotive industry.
» MECHANICS OF COMPOSITE MATERIALS The successful
candidate will have a research program with emphasis on
fibre-reinforced composite mechanics, mechanical behaviour
of composites, damage, failure, durability and design.
