invites applications for the following Faculty of Engineering positions:
Civil and Environmental Engineering
» GEOENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING;Applicants should have expertise in the
application of quantitative methods to problems in one or more of the following
research areas: soil and groundwater remediation, treatment of hazardous waste,
solid waste management, or other related and emerging geoenvironmental
Electrical and Computer Engineering
» COMPUTER HARDWARE ENGINEERING;Applicants are required to
have a developing research program with emphasis on computer hardware
engineering. Duties include research, teaching at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels, and supervising graduate students.
» COMPUTER SOFTWARE;The department is particularly interested in candidates
with a demonstrated research record in big data, data analytics, deep learning,
artificial intelligence or machine learning. Consideration will also be given to
exceptional candidates in computer software.
» SOF TWARE SYSTEMS;The department is particularly interested in candidates
with a demonstrated research record in systems software, operating systems,
dependable systems, embedded systems or real-time software systems.

» TIER- 1 CANADA RESEARCH CHAIR — COMPUTER SOFTWARE;The successful
candidate must have a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Computer
Science, or a related discipline. Evidence of an outstanding research program with
emphasis on computer software is required. Duties include research, teaching at
both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and supervising graduate students.
Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering
» MATERIALS AND WELDING ME TALLURGY;Preference will be given to
candidates with expertise in the general areas of phase transformations,
physical metallurgy and material properties as applied to welding and
joining and related manufacturing processes. A strong background in
experimental methods in materials science is an asset.
» THERMAL ENGINEERING AND ENERGY;The department is particularly
interested in candidates with a background in multiphase/multiscale
thermal-fluid transport processes and/or nano/microscale thermal sciences.
Applicants must have excellent communication skills and a dedication to
both teaching and research.
School of Architecture
» DIGITAL DESIGN;The successful candidate will have an advanced
education in a field linking design and computing, with teaching experience
in an architecture or design school, professional experience, and a record of
creative design and original research including grants and publications.
Systems Design Engineering
» LECTURER;The successful candidate will be able to comfortably teach
the engineering courses in our undergraduate curriculum, including those
in design methodology, prototyping, graphics, systems modeling, and
engineering economics and professionalism. Preference will be given to
candidates with demonstrated exceptional teaching skills.
