Knowledge is beautiful.
In other words, we have found a simple way to
extract gold that does far less damage to the
environment and is significantly lower in cost than
current methods that use harmful ingredients and
create a lot of waste.
U of S researchers have discovered a way to extract gold
from some of the 50 million tons of electronic waste that is
produced annually, with a method superior to pyrometallurgy
or hydrometallurgy, and with chemicals far less toxic and far
more effective than aqua regia or cyanide solution.
