Systems Design Engineering
BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING We are seeking a candidate with a focus in
one or more of our three theme areas: biomechanics (e.g., biofluids, tissue
mechanics, sports engineering, rehabilitation), biosignals (e.g., medical imaging,
electrograms, diagnostics, machine learning), and biodevices (e.g., biomedical
sensors, biomedical instruments, therapeutic devices, Bio-MEMS, assistive
devices, implants, prostheses/orthoses).
BIOMEDICAL SYSTEMS The successful candidate will have a focus on
biodevices: biomedical sensors, biomedical instruments, miniaturized devices,
therapeutic devices, Bio-MEMS, assistive devices, implants, prostheses.
HUMAN FACTORS We are seeking a candidate with a solid background
in human factors approaches and methods including modeling, human
performance measurement, experiment design, simulation and product design.

are expected to have expertise in design with strong emphasis on courses

mechanical design and senior design projects.
MULTISCALE CHARACTERIZATION AND MODELLING OF THE
PERFORMANCE OF ADVANCED MATERIALS Preference will be
given to applicants with active research in performing multiscale
experiments to calibrate/validate numerical models for light metals
and ultra-high strength steels.
MATERIALS ENGINEERING AND PROCESSING: WELDING AND
PROCESSING Preference will be given to candidates with expertise
in welding and joining, including microjoining and nanojoining.
