excellence, in academic teaching, scholarly research and
professional achievement appropriate to the level of their
appointment. All successful candidates for tenure-stream
appointments must be eligible for prompt appointment to
the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Candidates for engineering
appointments shall demonstrate commitment to the
engineering profession by being licensed as a Professional
Engineer in Ontario, or by becoming licensed soon
after appointment.

Bergeron Chair in Technology
Entrepreneurship
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for
the Bergeron Chair in Technology Entrepreneurship. The
successful candidate will lead the Bergeron Entrepreneurs in
Science and Technology (BEST) initiative. The Bergeron Chair
was established with generous support by Douglas and
Sandra Bergeron, Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and business
leaders. This tenure-stream position is at open rank, and
the successful candidate will demonstrate academic and
practical experience in technology entrepreneurship, and
a track record of excellence in teaching and research
appropriate to the rank. A PhD in a relevant area is
required, as is eligibility for registration as a Professional
Engineer in Ontario.

Civil Engineering
GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEERING

at the Assistant Professor level in the
area of Geotechnical Engineering.
Candidates with significant
academic and/or industrial
experience may be
considered for
appointment at the Associate Professor level. We are looking
to appoint a highly motivated candidate who will contribute
to the Department’s goal of establishing a state-of-the-art
advanced experimental geotechnics facility, focused on
laboratory and field testing of saturated, unsaturated and
frozen soils, and other geomaterials, such as waste and
mine tailings. The successful candidate must have a PhD in
Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
CIVIL ENGINEERING MATERIALS
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a
tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in
the area of Civil Engineering Materials. Candidates with
significant academic and/or industrial experience may be
considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level.
We are seeking candidates with expertise in the area of
Civil Engineering Materials, with a particular research focus
and ability to teach in one or more of the following areas:
high-performance concrete materials, strain-hardening
cementitious composites, recycled materials, masonry,
timber, sustainable materials, durability and sustainability of
structural materials, rehabilitation, pavement and highway
materials, and other construction materials. The successful
candidate must have a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely
related field.
WATER RESOURCES ENGINEERING
Applications are invited from qualified individuals for a
tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in
the area of Water Resources Engineering. Candidates with
significant academic and/or industrial experience may
be considered for appointment at the Associate Professor
level. We are looking to appoint a highly motivated
candidate who will contribute to the Department’s goal of
establishing a multi-faceted research program on integrated
water resources management, sustainable use of water
resources, and water security in the context of climate
change. The successful candidate will have demonstrated
research expertise in one or more of the following areas:
managing water distribution and urban drainage systems;
developing techniques for achieving water use efficiency
in urban settings; developing decision support, simulation
and optimisation tools for urban water systems; assessing
the impact of climate change on urban distribution systems;
assessing integrated asset management for water systems.
The successful candidate must have a PhD in Civil Engineering
or a closely related field.
