Candidates for the following tenure-track professorial positions will have a demonstrated track record of technical, academic (excellence, or promise of excellence, in teaching and scholarly research) and professional achievements appropriate to the level of their appointment. All successful candidates for tenure-track appointments must be eligible for prompt appointment to the Faculty of Graduate Studies. Candidates for engineering appointments shall demonstrate commitment to the engineering profession by being licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario, or by becoming licensed soon after appointment.

CIVIL ENGINEERING MATERIALS

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Civil Engineering Materials. Candidates with significant academic and/or industrial experience may be considered for appointment at a higher rank. The successful candidate must have a PhD in Civil Engineering or a closely-related field.

GEOTECHNICAL/GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in Geotechnical/Geological Engineering.

TRANSPORTATION ENGINEERING

CANADA RESEARCH CHAIR (TIER 2) IN PLANETARY SCIENCE

Applications are invited from emerging leaders in the area of Planetary Science to be nominated for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair at York University. The appointment will be at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Applications are solicited from candidates with successful original and innovative research programs involving laboratory investigation of processes in the current or early solar system, development of measurement instrumentation, data analysis, or numerical modelling in support of planetary exploration missions. Candidates must have a strong commitment to research and teaching, a PhD in Planetary Science or a related field, and a minimum of three years of postdoctoral experience.

EARTH OR ATMOSPHERIC SCIENCE

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are seeking outstanding candidates with a particular research focus and ability to teach in the areas of Earth or Atmospheric Science, and will consider candidates who specialize in experimental, theoretical or modelling aspects. The successful candidate must have a PhD in Earth or Atmospheric Science or a closely-related field.

BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING OR MICRO/ NANOELECTRONICS

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment in Electrical Engineering at the rank of Assistant Professor, commensurate with qualifications. We are seeking an outstanding candidate with a particular research focus and ability to teach in Biomedical Engineering or Micro/Nanoelectronics, although exceptional applicants from other areas in Electrical Engineering may also be considered. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely-related field, and a research record commensurate with rank.
